MAMASAK.MY is a collection of recipes documented by a family. Mama has been nagging the children to learn how to cook dishes which she created, and dishes which she learnt from both her mother and her mother-in-law. In our effort to remember the many details that go into a recipe, the children realised that documenting the learning process was the best way to do so.
At MAMASAK.MY, we would like to share our journey with you. With rising costs of living, eating out can no longer be the default option. Besides the added benefit of knowing what actually goes into your body, home cooked food is healthier. You are able to control the ingredients in a dish, and prepare a meal which is balanced and contains sources from different food groups.
In many homes, home cooked food is the dishes that every Mama cooks. The feeling of coming back home to a variety of hot delicious food, and the familiarity that comes with eating food which you grow up with is warm and comforting. We are hoping that our journey will mean we are able to cook for Mama and you are able to cook for yourself and your family too. Let's start eating healthy and spreading the joy which comes with cooking.

So what exactly is 'agak-agak'? Basically, it means 'to taste'. As many people have different preferences as to, say saltiness, it is near impossible to state how much salt goes into a recipe. Mama's best advice to us was to cook the dish often, and learn how to 'agak-agak' through trial and error.
